“My fault, my failure, is not in the passions I have, but in my lack of control of them.”
– Jack Kerouac, American Poet and Novelist
Obviously food is a big part of being human and it’s meant to be enjoyed and savored. There’s nothing unhealthy about eating meals and snacks…..unless the meals and snacks become excessive. The Merriam-Webster dictionary definition of which is:
**************************
ex.ces.sive adjective:-More than is necessary, normal or desirable; immoderate.

For me, the most challenging time of day to avoid excessive eating is in the evenings. I still struggle with associating food with relaxation and comfort and I’ve learned that when I’m tired, I have the least amount of self control. Having a plan of action for what we would like to have happen in the evenings is VERY helpful. It’s also important NOT to beat ourselves up and become frustrated with the less-than-optimal choices we might still make after the sun goes down and the house is quiet.
If this is something you have identified as a challenge too, I invite you to join me for a group discussion to share some ideas about what works to help curb excessive night time snacking and to laugh with me about what we’ve learned doesn’t help!!!! Haha! If we can’t laugh in life, then really, what’s the point????? 🙂
I can’t get to Geneva for the Tuesday evening discussion on night time eating. Could you please post some of the ideas and suggestions on your blog?
Thanks for all of your inspiration, Terra! You are a blessing!! I am also loving your Tasty Tuesdays ideas — am making the veggie pasta salad this evening.
Peace!
