“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.” – Aristotle

Weight loss and weight maintenance are management processes. Getting to your weight goal is step one, but it doesn’t end there. In fact, your weight goal is where the rest of your life begins and healthy behaviors must become habits.

How do we form a habit? Practice, right? Doing something over and over again strengthens the habit just like lifting a weight over and over again builds a muscle. Each step throughout the weight loss process is practice for maintaining your goal weight.

As your going through the daily process of losing weight, try not to think of it as hard or difficult. Think of it as practice for the living at a healthy weight for the rest of your life. If it is hard, come see me and let’s find a way to modify it so that it’s livable for YOU.

The tracking of your food, balancing your intake so that you’re eating fruits and veggies and plenty of healthy foods, moving more, drinking water….those are not things your are doing just to get to a weight goal. Those are things that are good for our bodies and help us to live a happier life. It’s part of taking care of ourselves. We are working to make those behaviors part of who we are and a normal part of our daily habits and routines.

One of, if not THE most, important habits for attaining and maintaining a healthy weight is attending your Weight Watchers meeting. Surrounding ourselves with positive energy, accountability, helpful ideas and support is the fastest, most effective way to lift our spirits and keep us (or get us back) on track. Human interaction just can’t be replaced and our meetings are FUN!!! It feels good to get together and share our success and get support when we feel challenged. I love our meetings!

All IS well,

Terra:-)
