“Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, ‘I will try again tomorrow.'”

– Mary Anne Radmacher

Everyday isn’t going to turn out to be what we consider “our perfect day”. Some days we will do things, say things and/or eat things that afterwards cause us to think “WHY DID I DO THAT???”. I like this quote because it reminds us that it feels difficult, but our job is to just keep trying. Getting up and starting over is actually very simple but we make it difficult by bringing a bunch of yesterday’s baggage along with us. Courage is being able to accept whatever we didn’t like about the day behind us and letting it go. We don’t have to make up for anything that happened yesterday or feel weighed down by heavy feelings of guilt, remorse or shame. Instead, we can just move into today with a light heart and gracefully make different choices. Many of us pray “Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors” from the Lord’s Prayer but we forget that it includes forgiving ourselves, too.

A healthy lifestyle means managing our behaviors as well as our thoughts. You have the courage to manage both successfully. Eating healthy foods in moderate portion sizes and being active are outward signs of respect for our bodies and it’s our divine right to feel love and joy in our hearts, so let NOTHING get in the way of either! Enjoy this blessed Easter weekend and use it as a time to express happiness and gratitude for all that’s in your life.
