Let’s Try This Again-Click Here!!!

We’re in the home stretch here! Just 2 days until Christmas! What an amazing time of year, isn’t it? Let’s enjoy it to the fullest and not let fear of food stand in the way of our joy. No one ever became over weight because they ate too much in the day or two leading up to Christmas, so let’s not be afraid of any food. This is a special time to focus on family, friends and faith. And yes, food plays a big role in many of our traditions. In some ways food is an expression of Love and we are free to embrace it!!!! Partake, enjoy and rejoice and as we do that, let’s be respectful of our bodies. Let’s enjoy the special meals & desserts but let’s listen to our bodies physical cues. Let’s try to eat only when we are physically hungry and stop when we are full. Dessert? Sure! A cookie. A piece of fudge. Or A slice of pie. We don’t have to gorge!! Eating larger quantities does not necessarily mean more satisfaction. Sometimes even a bite or two can bring as much satisfaction as a helping. Slow down. Let the feeling of gratitude for your surroundings wash over you. Take the time to TASTE the food and really savor the taste and what it represents to each of us. I think we will find that we have a lot more control than we might have expected and we will enjoy the holiday more than ever. Sounds like a pretty healthy, balanced attitude, doesn’t it???

The rest of this week is going to fly by!!! Christmas will be gone before we know it and we will have plenty of time to get back to our healthy routine. Let’s ditch the “all or nothing” attitude of the past and eat the special foods we love this Christmas and care enough about ourselves to do so in moderation.

All is well❤️

Love,

Terra😄

I think your new website is beautiful, Terra! Plus it will be an easy, organized way for people to find lots of tips and encouragement as they (we) are walking this weight loss/weight maintenance journey. Thanks for creating it! Merry Christmas!

It’s true! If we are going to be Weight Watchers for the rest of our lives, and holidays come around each year of our lives, then we will have to find a thoughtful way to include special holiday foods in our “forever” lives. I know I’ll be OK if I taste the dishes I love, ignore the ones that aren’t all that special, and keep in mind that it’s a holiDAY, not a holiWEEK or holiMONTH!
