We Are What We Repeatedly Do

“We Are What We Repeatedly Do. Excellence, Therefore, Is Not An Act But A Habit.”
–Aristotle

Good health is certainly more about consistent habits than individual acts. Ask anyone who has lost weight and kept it off! They will quickly tell you, getting to your goal weight is not something you do, then mark off your bucket list never to worry about again!  Maintaining our weight is a management process and it’s WELL WORTH the effort. It’s an ongoing system of habits that we each customize for ourselves.  It has to work with what have going in in our lives to be sustainable.  Self monitoring is key not only to staying on a healthy track, but also to making sure we are feeling satisfied and in balance.

If you are in the weight loss process, think of it simply as practice for weight maintenance.   I know you want the weight off yesterday, but it does take time and that’s OK!!!  The way you lose the weight is what you are going to need to continue to do to maintain the loss, so make sure you are doing it in a way that’s livable and enjoyable. Is this possible? ABSOLUTELY!!!

One of the best habits I’ve ever adopted is surrounding myself with people who lift me up, who support a healthy lifestyle and who seek to live in gratitude and joy.  Being around people like this makes me feel good and make better choices.  One of the best places to find folks who share in your quest for a healthy weight and lifestyle is your Weight Watchers meeting. If you are seeking inspiration, camaraderie and some great tips and tricks to make this journey fulfilling, fun and successful, get yourself back to your meeting!   Doing it alone is not nearly as much fun!!  I will be there to help you however I can and I promise you won’t regret it!

All is well!

Love,
Terra
