“Moving on, is a simple thing, what it leaves behind is hard.”. ————–Dave Mustaine

I dumped the last of the eggnog down my kitchen sink as I left for the gym this morning and I’m challenging you to do the same. The cookies, the candy, the spinach artichoke dip and all the other yummy fare that we ate over Christmas was delicious and we enjoyed it all immensely! Now it’s OVER! All those foods we call “Fattening” only live up to that description when eaten on a continuous basis. No one became overweight “one Christmas”!!—
Do a clean sweep of your kitchen and your other surroundings this morning (maybe your desk or office at work) and just get rid of all the junk food, then relax experience how much easier it is to eat healthy today. Out of sight, out of mind-for the most part!
Our bodies have gotten used to eating a little more over the last few days, so make sure you have plenty of healthy food options from which to easily chose. Allow yourself to “eat in volume” if that’s what you’re craving today–just make sure it’s the “good stuff”–lean meats, fruits and veggies, whole grains and low fat/fat free dairy. Soup is always such a phenomenal choice. Make it, buy it, pay your kids who are home from school to make it for you–whatever–but devise a plan to set yourself up for success over the next few days. We have all the fun New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day parties to look forward to this weekend, so we need a “good week” to balance it out.
Hope you enjoyed your holiday–including all the foods! Don’t make the age old mistake of regretting a single bite you took–it was yummy, you enjoyed it and today we are moving on! Don’t ever feel like you’re “the only one” because you’re not. We are moving forward TOGETHER! Have a fabulous day!!
