“You never know who the person sitting next to you in your WW meeting might be! DC Brod is our very own Deb from the WW meeting in St. Charles! This is just one of her many published novels. I promise it will keep your interest and make you laugh!” -Terra Ayres Blog Post January 2011 talking about “Getting Sassy”
Last year at this time, Deb’s book “Getting Sassy” was released with tremendous success. I personally loved reading it and so did several of my friends and family members. Last year I posted a blog with a breakfast recipe that Deb shared with everyone and some info about her and the book. You can find the recipe and entire post under the “Foods” tab of my home page and under the breakfast catagory.
Ok…now fast forward to the present, December 2011….Deb finished the follow up book, “Getting Lucky” and it’s now published and on sale in all the bookstores! YAY! YAHOOO for Deb and for US because it’s just in time for Christmas! A great gift to ourselves or to give to others this holiday season. I asked Deb for a short synopsis of the book and here’s what she had to say: “When a young reporter is killed in a hit and run accident, freelance writer Robyn Guthrie agrees to finish one of the stories the reporter had been writing for the local newspaper. But nothing is as simple as it seems when she uncovers shady land deals, encounters an old high school nemesis, and attempts to fend off her aging mother’s latest notion.”
I can’t wait to read it myself!
So often at this time of year we turn to food for comfort, entertainment and/or stress. Instead of munching, give reading a try! I love to read, but it’s even more fun to read a novel knowing the author is local and one of “us”!! She’s an amazing person who is full of talent and kindness and it shines through in her writing.

Terra, I was checking your site awhile ago for some of your recipe ideas and noticed you had the book, “Getting Sassy” by one of your WW members. I immediately put it on my “to read” list! (love recommendations from people I like!) Thanks for being an energetic inspiration for all of us WW members! Karen
As we enter the last three weeks before Christmas, I made a very specific weight loss goal for myself. I use that goal as my computer password now.
Each day, several times a day, I am typing my goal over and over.
It’s just a psychological game between me and myself, but the daily reminder is really working for me.
