My challenge to you (and myself) today: Eat only when HUNGRY. We may not be able to control all external circumstances, but we DO control our own actions and behaviors. No situation, person or emotion MAKES us turn to food…We alone get to make that choice. I’m challenging you to avoid the temptation to turn to food today for anything other than hunger.

Whatever the emotion….sad, anxious, stressed, happy, bored, excited…find a way to FEEL it without turning to food. Opt for a walk to enjoy the beautiful fall color rather than a snack. Call a friend, send an email, read a good book, start a running gratitude list, sit on your porch or deck….anything that doesn’t involve food when your body isn’t hungry.

Feel good today. Feel good about your self and the healthy changes you are making. Enjoy this journey and don’t concern yourself with anything more than just today.
