“If you’re not prepared, it’s not pressure you feel, it’s fear.” ~ Bruce Bochy

The holidays are some of the best times of our life. Let’s not be afraid of them just because we are trying to live a healthy life. A healthy life is about balance and balance not only includes a healthy weight, it also includes satisfaction and enjoying ourselves. Food does provide pleasure and we need not be fearful of that or try to deny it. It’s all about moderation and being prepared.

It’s almost the weekend and so while you are doing all of you usual Turkey Day preparations, remember to prepare for staying on program as well. Work in some extra time for exercise to off- set the end of next week’s festivities. Purchase some disposable take-home containers to use after the Thanksgiving meal is over to send some of the leftovers home with your guests. Take the time to make the Value Chili (see Fav Foods tab on my blog) or the veggie soup in the WW Getting Started Book OR search eTools and find a NEW and exciting recipe that you can make ahead of time and have on hand for next weekend after Thanksgiving is over. None of us became over weight from eating too much on Thanksgiving or our Birthday or Christmas! The KEY is to get back on track after the holiday is over. Note that I said “holiDAY” and not “holiWEEKEND” or “holiMONTH”! Make the very most of your Thanksgiving meal…enjoy every single bite, guilt free and full of thanks. We are living a LIFE here, not living a DIET. There’s nothing to be afraid of because we have found the control that we were missing in the past. Enjoy!
