Oh what a Thanksgiving! I had such a nice, long holiday weekend with my family and I hope you did too! Hopefully you enjoyed every single bite you ate and sip you drank!!! I sure did and now it’s time to come back to our healthy routines and to be honest, I am ready. Are you?
The real key to successfully living a healthy lifestyle and losing and/or keeping weight off is to GET BACK ON TRACK IMMEDIATELY! It’s important that you start today with a healthy attitude. No regrets, no guilt, no negative self talk….just positive feelings about the control you are exercising today and how good it feels.
When my alarm went off early this morning for my run, I wanted nothing more than to cover up, roll over and go back to sleep but as I lay there, I knew it was worth the effort to fight through the discomfort and go. It’s what I do. It’s part of who I am . That hour run with my runner girl friends sets the tone for my day and although it’s tough to get up and get out in the cold and dark at first, it is WELL WORTH IT and it feels really GOOD.
It will also feel good for us to drink plenty of water today and get back to our healthy eating. Make sure you’ve got plenty of fruits, veggies, lean proteins, whole grains and low fat dairy foods to eat for meals and snack this week. Make a plan for your exercise and activity. When this week will you take time for yourself? A few minutes invested in organizing your week will pay off ten fold, so take the time!
