McDonald’s Cherry Pie Remake

I can barely contain my excitement!! This is one of my new favorite go-to after dinner treats!! Hope you enjoy it as well.

I found this no sugar added cherry pie filling on my Walmart app and it happened to actually be in stock. A good sign from the very beginning! I wasn’t sure what to do with it, so I posted a pic of the label on WW Connect and asked if anyone had any ideas. Someone recommended putting it in an egg roll wrapper and air frying it. Sounded good, so I gave it a try and glad I did! YUM!

I absolutely cannot wait to hear what you think of this one! It’s super easy, you can make just one at a time so you don’t over eat and it’s a fairly good size dessert! I haven’t had a McD’s cherry pie in YEARS but when I took my first bite of this, the memories came rushing back! My hubby, Darin, who tastes and officially rates all my recipe remakes, agrees 100%!

You may look at the ingredient list and be tempted to leave out the 1 tablespoon of light whipped cream cheese. I don’t know what made me think to add it originally (other than I had some in the frig) but it really makes the “pie”. We did a second tasting without the light whipped cream cheese and although it was good, it wasn’t GREAT. You can’t really taste the cream cheese, but it changes the texture and makes it significantly better somehow? It doesn’t give it a cheesecake taste at all. It just enhances the pie texture and takes it from good to WOW

Come back and post a comment to let me know if you like them as much as we do😋 Your comments not only make me SMILE, they also let me know if I’m posting ideas YOU find helpful or not. On my next Walmart grocery delivery, I have ordered no sugar added apple pie filling – just 30 calories for 1/3 cup. If you have any additional ideas for that one, let me know and I’ll give ‘er a try!

All is well❤️

Hi Terra, I tried the recipe tonight. I found Duncan Hines sugar free cherry pie filling at Woodman’s here in IL and the egg roll sheets you showed in your photo. It took 3 tries, but the first 2 were oozing the ingredients so I reduced the ingredients. The third one was a success!! DELISH!!

So glad you got it to work!!! My first one oozed our a little too. Once I figured out my wrapping technique it’s been clean!! Yay! Enjoy!!

          Thanks for letting me know!!

Success at last!! I did not realize that I was using 2 sheets at a time which helped to make them less pliable. Working well now and becoming a nightly treat!! Thanks!

Hi Patti! I love this one! I have TWO of them! We often use them at the same time when preparing meals. I have a purple one and the red one. https://amzn.to/2VlRhuC
