Mole Hill-Not Mountain

“A sense of humor is a major defense against minor troubles. ———-Mignon McLaughlin

A good reminder going into the weekend not to hold on too tight. Don’t make taking care of yourself and losing weight a stressful production. Its a rough time of year and many people are struggling with the scale being up a little bit. I know that is not what we want but don’t lose perspective either. You are not alone. When we panic or obsess over where our weight is at the moment we tend to send ourselves in the opposite direction of where we want to go. Relax, take a deep breath, be grateful for the body you have today (Ouch, that’s hard! So much easier to think of things that are wrong with it!!) and let’s move into the weekend with the intent to make sensible choices. No extremes one way or the other-just a healthy attitude that involves moving a little more and eating just a little less. Decide what event, meals or foods are most important to you this weekend and plan for them. Anything that isn’t that important and does not make the list, just choose to bypass. “Don’t make a mountain out of a mole hill” as they say! We can be ready for spring without a problem as long as we keep our sense of humor and don’t lose perspective. Forget the scale and focus on behaviors and keeping positive self talk running through your head. What you think about is what you are going to bring about.
