“I have climbed several higher mountains without guide or path, and have found, as might be expected, that it takes only more time and patience commonly than to travel the smoothest highway.” -Henry David Thoreau
It doesn’t matter if you have 10 pounds to lose or 110 pounds to lose, the key is taking one step at a time. Weight loss is a game of patience and persistence. It feels slow in the moment, but in the big picture it doesn’t matter—the time is passing regardless. It’s up to us what progress we make during that time. If you only lost four tenths of a pound (.4 pounds) per week, in a year you would have lost 20.8 pounds total. IT ALL ADDS UP. One of the best ways I know to help us develop a better sense of patience is by surrounding ourselves with people who have common goals and who are achieving them. This is exactly what we get each week at our WW meetings. “Gettin’ by with a little help from our friends”, to quote The Beatles!
Hi Terry, I found the quote below…I think it is perfect for what WW teaches us. Thank YOU for everything you do…and all the support you give us.
Don’t wake up thinking you CAN’T do it…Wake up knowing YOU can!!! You can be your worst enemy or your best friend! No one is going to do it better than YOU! RJD
You are welcome, Maureen! Thanks for the quote…love it!
