“The journey of a 1,000 miles begins with a single step.. ——–Ancient Chinese Proverb
This quote may be “ancient” but it certainly IS true. It came to mind this morning as I pulled in my driveway from they gym to see 2 inches of snow piled up and more coming down rapidly with no end in sight! Damn, Darin is out of town and Cole did the best he could but he had to catch the school bus. That leaves just me and Chase (who’s in 3rd grade) as potential shovelers. Rats! “The job of clearing an entire driveway of snow begins with a single scoop!”—– Whether we are looking at all the snow that needs to be shoveled, all the Christmas bills that need to be paid OR the all the pounds that you may want to lose, the premise is the same: ONE STEP AT A TIME. No matter what the situation, the extent of our control is very simple-it extends to this moment and this moment only. Don’t be paralyzed by dread, fear or procrastination-just jump in and take one action step towards the direction you want to go. It really is that simple. One foot in front of the other and don’t concern yourself with what you’ve done in the past or how long this journey may take. Just live one moment at a time, moving forward and doing the best you can. Have a great day and try to enjoy the beautiful snow!
