Good morning, everyone!

This Tasty Tuesday food idea has been around for many years, but many of us have forgotten about it or never heard of it at all. A big thanks to Helen for sending it to me because it’s definitely an oldie but a goody!! And yes, it really is as simple as Helen says!!!

Enjoy!!

Dear Terra,

I keep meaning to send you this really easy recipe for Pineapple Angel Food cake. I don’t know if anyone sent it to you already or not, but I made it for Easter and it was really great. We added sliced strawberries and bananas to the top with a small bit of whipped cream and the cake tasted like a banana split…well, almost! 🙂

All you need is an Angel Food cake mix and a can of Crushed Pineapple in Juice or Water (the big can not the little one like the tuna fish size.) Add the two ingredients together in a bowl and mix well. Pour into a pan. The recipe calls for a bundt pan but I used a 15×11 glass Pyrex pan. Bake according to the box for time and temp. For the glass pan that I used, I baked it for 25 mins at 350 degrees.

Just a note: when you mix the ingredients in the bowl, the mixture will “poof.” Make sure you use a bowl big enough to allow for the “poofing.” Also, the mix will “poof” a bit more when you pour it into the baking pan, so make sure to allow for that as well. This sounds really weird, but the cake was so yummy. My husband and son had several pieces. 🙂

Helen
