“Anyone can give up, it’s the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that’s true strength. –Unknown
Adversity rears it’s ugly head all too often in life. Although we can’t always control when or how it will strike-we CAN control how we choose to deal with it. Things are constantly changing–sometimes for the better and sometimes for what, at the moment, seems worse. But ultimately “”This too shall pass”” so don’t let it stop you from making the life changes that are important to YOU. Living healthy is an investment and like any worthwhile investment, it takes time and resources to get it going and keep it going but boy, does it pay off! There is nothing like the strong and in control feeling of managing our weight successfully. We may not be able to control other people or the situations thrown at us but we can always control our own behavior. Turning to healthy eating habits, portion control and increased activity are simple ways to make you feel terrific and give you the strength you need for everything else in your life. When things get tough, that’s when you most need to keep this aspect of your life in order. Have a bad day? Only one answer-jump right back on track immediately. Two bad days? Same answer–yep, you got it, jump back on track immediately. Bad year? Back on track this moment. I know you may not feel like you can do it, but you can. Reach out and get help from those who have been there, done that and are still managing the process. It’s so comforting, refreshing and encouraging to find out we are not alone! We don’t need to reinvent the wheel-come to a meeting, throw out your challenge and let people who have gone before you give you ideas, suggestions and advice. I promise you will feel better and in turn, do better by making better choices. There are plenty of good reasons why losing weight and keeping it off are difficult BUT there are plenty MORE reasons why it’s worth it to do so. Remind yourself of how good it feels to take care of YOU and how much more energy you will have to give others. All is well!!!!!
